Chronic venous disease during pregnancy

Changes to the venous system that occur during pregnancy are linked to hormonal secretions, as well as compression of the iliac veins by the gravid uterus. The clinical signs are varied and can be distressing. The reasons that pregnant women consult can be grouped under the terms aesthetic, preventative, and therapeutic.
